Hankou Urban Renovation

This renovation research project located in Haokou area in Wuhan, which is a poorly developed area which left out of the urban agenda. This area was once an important port in central China last centuries, and contain eight concessions form 1900s, it features a rich historical context and potential tourism resources. The renovation strategy here is not only to revive the area through introducing economic activities or industries but also to review the cultural and historical value in the buildings and urban fabrics while integrating new stakeholders into historical neighbourhoods. The thinking here is multi-layers which includes different perspectives of tourism, cultural, historical, residential and economical.
